Out of responsibility to our children

As a family business, we have a special sense of responsibility towards protecting our environment. Commercial business is subject to special constraints, but they must never be used to justify the destruction of our natural resources.

Foam materials are petroleum-based and their production requires many chemical processes and components. We are aware of this contradiction and see it as a motivation to nevertheless make a substantial contribution to protecting our Environment.

Entrepreneurs For Future

However, in order to do even more to protect the environment and climate, political support is needed. Through the Fridays for Future movement, young people around the world are demonstrating and striking to demand more action to prevent climate change. We would like to follow this example. Pahlke Schaumstoffe is one of the more than 4,000 companies that have now signed the statement drawn up by Entrepreneurs for Future. This business initiative is made up of dedicated entrepreneurs from a wide range of sectors who are committed to protecting the climate and actively supporting the Fridays for Future movement. Above all, they are calling for compliance with the commitments of the Paris Agreement, which is binding under international law, in order to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius.

Bundesverband Nachhaltiger Wirtschaft

Pahlke is also a member of the Bundesverband Nachhaltige Wirtschaft (BNW, German Federation for Sustainable Economy). Since 1992, the BNW (formerly UnternehmensGrün) has been active as a cross-industry association of entrepreneurs. It has always been independent of party politics. Sustainable economic activity requires an appropriate political framework. The federation helps to drive environmentally oriented subsidy, fiscal, and tax policy, ecologically oriented procurement and investment policy, and socially sustainable economic policy.
